Distractions, no more

When the mind rises to the state of Yoga and remains so, the perception is immediate. Not gradual.

The usual mental disturbances are absent when the mind has risen to the state of Yoga. However the memories of the past continue. The memories help us live in the day-to-day world, but not create distractions.

virāma-pratyaya-abhyāsa-pūrva-samskāra-śeṣo-’nyaḥ

virāma – cessation, from vi + root word ram is to stop
pratyaya – the cause, the feeling, content of mind, presented idea, cognition
abhyāsa – practice
pūrva – former
samskāra – subliminal activator, from sam + kr is to do
śeṣa – residuum, from root word śiṣ is to remain
anya – other
