Boot Party

If you have traveled in India you would know by now, shoes are normally not allowed inside homes, temples and a lot of other places. But, recently shoes were not allowed in press meetings and any meeting that involved a politician. It is not because there is anything holy about a politician, but quite the opposite.

There were so many incidents where journalists and common people threw slippers at all the lying politicians. I guess I don’t have to use lying politicians, just politicians would do. I think these incidents were inspired by the shoe attack of Bush. Some people in India threw packets of chicken biryani. But, none of them hit the mark. I guess it is quite difficult to pull this off. Focus and concentration are key to this and tons of Yoga would help. I can suggest an asana to perfect this.

From purna utkatasana (the squat pose), pick up the object that needs to be hurled. Inhale deeply and rise up. The drshti is focussed on the target and hurl the object at the end of the exhale. I think this will work. For more style, one can get into natarajasana and then hurl the object. Anyway, this boot party is coming to a close, as the Indian parliamentary elections 09 are coming to a close.

I voted today on a cool looking electronic voting machine and did my Dharma. For, action is superior to inaction. And, right now I am practicing detachment.

Oops! All the comments disappeared : (
I am not sure how I can retrieve them back.

Anyway, I agree throwing chicken biryani is a waste. The insult is greater when you throw a slipper or shoes. Nothing else comes close.

Looks like bootslapping is still not over. There was an attempt to throw a shoe at prime minister Manmohan Singh today.

One of the worst things you can say to people in and around Bangalore is the word ‘Loafer’. For whatever reason, this is the worst insult here. You call someone this and a fight will get started in no time. The word loafer does not sound bad at all to me compared to other insults.
